How an ear impression is taken
Ear impressions are taken the same way for everyone, on site or at a hearing centre.
Ear inspection
First, the ear is checked for abnormalities.
Protecting the ear canal
A small cotton block is placed in the ear canal to protect the ear.
Check
A second inspection checks that everything is in place.
Taking the impression
The impression material is injected into the ear canal.
Setting
The material sets in about five minutes.

The impression is carefully taken out of the ear.
Final check
Finally, the ear is checked to make sure it looks normal again.
Practical information
Preparing a fitting day
You agree a date and time with us. Schedule the employees one after another so the day runs smoothly, and let us know in advance how many people are coming and at which workplaces they work. Then we can advise the right filter for each employee.
Does an employee have ear problems, or has their ear recently been treated? Let us know in advance and we will look together at what is sensible.

After the ear impressions
The impressions go to our own lab, Audiform in Kilder. There every earplug is custom-made, in your colour and with a logo if you wish. The custom earplugs are ready about three weeks after the ear impressions are taken, marked for each employee and with a case.
