Why these earplugs

Stay aware of your surroundings

This filter keeps your sense of space and the direction of sound. You hear where a bang comes from and what is happening around you. That matters if you work at a fireworks display or do carbide shooting.

Extra protection against impulse noise

Gives extra protection of up to 35 dB against extreme noise peaks, such as shots and bangs, and so helps prevent hearing damage from impulse noise.

High quality

Colour and logo do not change the protection. Technically, they are equivalent to plain custom earplugs.

Ventilation & comfort

The breathable design allows a continuous flow of air in the ear. This reduces occlusion and helps prevent irritation in the ear canal.

Uniquely protected

Choose acrylic or silicone in the colour you want, with a standard logo or a jewel.

Unique logo print

Our logo print is patent pending. Companies and clubs can have their own logo printed from 10 pairs.

A pile of red and green firecrackers

Who is it for?

Developed for protection against the noise of fireworks. Think of people watching a fireworks display, fireworks professionals, members of an association with an exemption and people who do carbide shooting.

Since 1 August 2026, consumers in the Netherlands are no longer allowed to set off fireworks themselves, except for small fireworks such as sparklers. There are still bangs at displays and at associations with an exemption from the municipality (gemeente), when fireworks go off nearby anyway, and on New Year's Eve abroad. Your municipality decides whether carbide shooting is allowed.

Filter

With a high-quality membrane filter

Our hearing protectors have a membrane filter as standard, instead of a traditional tube filter. Ordinary earplugs often reduce sound unevenly. They reduce too little in the low tones and too much where it is not needed. Our filters give a natural, clear sound, so speech stays easy to understand.

Frequently asked questions

How does ordering work?

You design your earplugs online in the Designlab and get a design code and a PDF. You use them to book an appointment at a partner hearing centre. The hearing care professional takes impressions of your ears, which are included in the price. You pay at the hearing centre. Your earplugs are ready about three weeks after your ear impressions are taken. You agree with your hearing care professional whether you collect them or have them sent to you.

Which material is best for me?

With custom earplugs, you choose between hard acrylic and soft silicone.

Acrylic is sturdy, durable and easy to clean. That makes it ideal if you use your earplugs often and want them to last a long time.

Silicone is flexible and soft. It is extra comfortable, especially if you wear your earplugs for long periods or have sensitive ears. That way you choose the material that best suits how you use them and what you prefer.

Which level of protection suits me best?

For the office, sleeping or travelling, light attenuation is often enough, around 9 to 16 dB SNR. For concerts, festivals and motorcycling, you usually choose 16 to 20 dB. In noisy industry and construction, a DI filter goes up to 26 dB. For shots and bangs, a DIM filter is the right choice. It adds extra attenuation when there is a loud peak. Your hearing care professional helps you choose the attenuation that suits your situation.

When will my earplugs be ready?

Your earplugs are ready about three weeks after your ear impressions are taken. You agree with your hearing care professional whether you collect them at the hearing centre or have them sent to you.

If you want them for New Year's Eve, have your ear impressions taken in good time, around 10 December at the latest. Also read how to count back the lead time from New Year's Eve.

Can I get a different level of protection?

The earplugs for fireworks come with a 19 dB SNR filter as standard. You can get higher or lower attenuation. Choose a different filter in the Designlab, or order an extra filter set later. Not sure? Use the filter finder.

Can I also use these earplugs for carbide shooting?

Yes. Like a firework bang, a carbide bang is a short, loud peak. The DIM filter in these earplugs adds extra attenuation at such peaks, while you can still hear your surroundings. Your municipality decides whether carbide shooting is allowed where you live. You can read tips for shooters and spectators in hearing protection for carbide shooting.
